Using the E-Book This multimedia e-book is designed to promote the development of reading fluency and comprehension. The audio files used for the modem/dial-up version of the book are highly compressed. They will download quickly but the audio files used with the broadband version of the book will play with higher fidelity.

The page turning animations use substantial graphics resources. Most modern computers will play the page turns gracefully. Users with older computers can select the Low Video option which does not require as high graphics processing capability.

Page turns are click-and-drag from the lower outside corners of the book. Pages in the Low Video book can also be turned using the left and right arrow keys. Pages in the High Video book can be turned by just clicking on them.

To begin reading the book, move the mouse cursor over the text. It will turn to a hand over the text. Click on the text to play.

The book is designed to play on a 1024 x 768 pixel screen. It will adjust itself to play on an 800 x 600 pixel screen. Some computers that are set to 800 x 600 will also support higher resolution. Consult the Screen Test link above. Higher resolution will provide more readable text.
